ON THE DEATH OF OLYMPIC LUGER,
NODAR KUMARITASHVILLI

VANCOUVER – Lieutenant Governor’s statement:
"Last evening I met with President Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia and on behalf of the people of British Columbia, expressed our sincere condolences at the tragic loss of their Olympic team member, Nodar Kumaritashvilli. The death of such a vibrant young athlete has shocked and saddened us all. Our thoughts and hearts are with the people of Georgia and in particular the Olympic team mates who will be grieving the loss in a most significant way. We are impressed and inspired with the determination of Nodar Kumaritashvilli’s team mates to carry on through this painful experience and to compete in the games for the sake of Nodar and the people of Georgia."
