LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR’S STATEMENT ON
RESIDENTIAL FIRE
February 2, 2009
VICTORIA – The Honourable Steven Point, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, released the following statement about the fire that occurred at his private residence on the morning of Sunday, February 1, 2009.
“My wife, Gwen, and I would like to thank everyone for their expressions of concern at this difficult time. Our friends, neighbours and everyone in the community have reached out to us in so many ways and we appreciate and thank them for their support and assistance. We are especially grateful for the excellent way the police and fire departments responded and for the work they are doing on our behalf. The best thing we can do now is to leave them to work on the investigation. Thank you.”
