2008 Lieutenant Governor's
Awards For Excellence In BC Wines
Call For Entries
VICTORIA - The Government House Foundation announces the 2008 call for entries for the annual Lieutenant Governor's Awards for Excellence in British Columbia Wines.
The Honourable Steven Point invites wineries from all over the province to enter their best wines in the competition. Timetable is as follows:
- May 23 - Deadline for receipt of entries
- June 4 - Deadline for entered wines to be delivered to Government House
- Late June - Tasting/judging panel
- July - Winning wines announced
- August - His Honour to visit wineries to make award presentations

In 2003, former Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, the Honourable Iona Campagnolo, consulted with wine industry professionals throughout the province to establish the Lieutenant Governor’s Awards of Excellence in British Columbia Wines. The awards program recognizes and honours excellence in wines made from 100% British Columbian grown grapes and produced within the province.
