The 2008 concert line-up is:
Rukus
Thursday, July 10 at 6pm
Rukus has been performing authentic rock ‘n’ roll for enthusiastic audiences of all ages at almost every venue in and around Victoria for over 25 years. Highlights through the years include playing shows with Randy Bachman, The Coasters and opening for Buddy Knox's 60th birthday party bash. With five members they are able to re-create a wide variety of the sights and sounds of the Golden Age of Rock 'N' Roll that are guaranteed to bring you to your feet.
Valdy
Thursday, July 17 at 6pm
Valdy has been an important part of the fabric of Canadian pop and folk music for more than 30 years. Best remembered for Play Me a Rock and Roll Song, his bitter-sweet memory of finding himself, Valdy is a relaxed and amiable story-teller. A two-time Juno Award winner, songwriter and with four Gold albums to his credit, Valdy continues to please audiences with his masterful blend of country, folk, rock and blues.
Belvedere Broadcasters
Thursday, July 24 at 6pm
Since 1994, the Belvedere Broadcasters have been playing authentic arrangements of popular songs and dance music of the 1920s and '30s for audiences in Victoria. A great four-piece rhythm section backs up two trumpets, trombone, three saxophones and violin. Along with two-tone shoes and three-part vocals, the band creates music and atmosphere reminiscent of the "Jazz Age." Performances include Victoria Symphony’s “Symphony Splash”, Butchart Gardens, Sun Valley Idaho “Swing N Dixie” Jazz Jamboree, Hermann’s Jazz Club, The Union Club of Victoria and numerous other events around the Pacific Northwest.
