Lieutenant Governor Visits
Vancouver Island
Communities

VICTORIA - On Wednesday, the Honourable Steven L. Point, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia will commence a 4-day program of events in Duncan, Gold River, Campbell River and Comox. The tour will include visits to local schools as well as meeting with the local mayors, city councillors and chiefs. Itinerary is as follows:

  • Tour of Duncan City Hall
  • Lunch with the Mayor and City Council of Duncan
  • Visit to Duncan Manor Seniors’ Centre
  • Visit the Cowichan Tribes
  • Visit and tour the Quw’utsun Cultural Centre
January 24 Gold River
  • Breakfast with the Mayor and Councillors of Gold River
  • Visit to Gold River Secondary School
  • Lunch with the Mowachaht/Muchalaht Band First Nation
Campbell River
  • Reception at the Museum of Campbell River
January 25 Comox
  • Visit and tour Canadian Forces Base Comox
  • Visit to Highland Secondary School
  • Visit to Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park
  • Dinner with the Mayor and Councillors of Comox
January 26 Comox
  • Visit to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 160, Comox
  • Visit with the Comox Indian Band
Oyster River
  • Oyster River Volunteer Fire Department Awards Ceremony
