Heroes Hockey Challenge Gala Dinner

Their Honours attend the Heroes Hockey Challenge Gala Dinner in Vancouver. Heroes Hockey Challenge is a series of national hockey charitable fundraising events to take place in six cities across Canada. The funds raised by Heroes Hockey Challenge will benefit all wounded Canadian soldiers and their families with particular emphasis on amputees.


Visit with 5th Tsartlip Scouts

His Honour welcomes the 5th Tsartlip Scouts to Government House and presents the group with badges to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.


Christ Church Cathedral Choral Evensong

His Honour attends a Choral Evensong at Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The performance includes music by Charles Stanford, William Byrd and Henry Purcell.


Tea to Celebrate the Diamond Jubilee

His Honour hosts a traditional tea at Government House to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Vancouver Island Construction Association Reception

His Honour hosts a reception at Government House to launch the Vancouver Island Construction Association's centennial year celebrations. The Association was founded in 1912 as a builders exchange and represents one of the oldest not-for-profit construction associations in Canada.


Visit to Lester B. Pearson United World College

His Honour visits and speaks with students at Lester B. Pearson United World College for Indigenous Peoples Special Topic Day. Throughout the year, Pearson College holds special days and events in which students learn aspects of specific cultures.


Visit to Bella Bella

His Honour and members of local Rotary Clubs visit communities in Bella Bella that are participating in the Lieutenant Governor's literacy initiatives.


First Nations Technology Council Summit

Their Honours attend the First Nations Technology Council Summit in Vancouver for the official launch of a new Indigenous language application.


National Aboriginal Achievement Awards

Their Honours attend the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards in Vancouver. The Awards were established to encourage and celebrate excellence in the Aboriginal community and recognize the outstanding career achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people in diverse occupations.


Royal Oak Rotary Club Meeting

His Honour speaks to the members of the Royal Oak Rotary Club about his literacy program.


Dinner in Honour of the Assembly Western Catholic Bishops

Their Honours host a dinner at Government House for the Assembly of Western Catholic Bishops. The AWCB includes all the Bishops from the western provinces and three territories.

New Year's Day Levée

Their Honours host the annual New Year's Day Levée at Government House. Their Honours greet the public and visitors are invited in for refreshments and to enjoy the music of the Naden Band of Maritime Forces Pacific and the Canadian Scottish Regiment Pipes and Drums.


Chiefs of Police Criminal Justice Symposium Dinner

His Honour attends a dinner in Victoria during the annual Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police Criminal Justice Symposium. The forum discusses collaborative and innovative ways to reform the criminal justice process.


Order of Canada Members Reception

His Honour, along with the Canadian Club of Victoria, hosts a reception at Government House for local members of the Order of Canada. The Order of Canada is the centrepiece of Canada’s honours system and recognizes a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation.

His Honour attends the opening ceremony of Douglas College's Aboriginal Gathering Place in New Westminster. The Gathering Place is a multi-purpose space designed to be used as a study space, student lounge and venue for traditional ceremonies.

Their Honours host the Honorary Aides-de-Camp Dinner at Government House. The black-tie dinner honours the Lieutenant Governor's current Honorary Aides-de-Camp.

His Honour attends the BC Agricultural Industry Gala in Abbotsford. The evening is British Columbia's premier agricultural networking event with over 450 leaders from across the industry gathering to celebrate and recognize agriculture in the province.


READ Society's Family Literacy Day Game-a-thon

His Honour hosts the READ Society's Family Literacy Day Game-a-thon at Government House. Families have the opportunity to play board, dice and card games and enjoy refreshments. The READ Society is a non-profit organization serving children, youth and adults who need help with basic literacy skills.
